Red Steel GAME Preview
Posted by Kerri on October 31st, 2006
The UK retail shop GAME have put a preview up of the forthcoming wii ‘killer app’ Red Steel which can be found here.
I’ve noticed recently that now the Wii is getting closer to release, people are starting to get to spend some proper time with these games and are starting to notice that they are not as great as first imagined. I think its a shame that these launch games are looking less than perfect but as with every console launch. There are bound to be atleast 8 out of 10 games which are crappy.
Give it a year and we’ll be playing some awesome Wii games like with the DS.

I think your right, I’ve also noticed a growing trend towards people finding faults with some games.
But the majority are 3rd party games, plus you have to give them the benefit of the doubt, Ubisoft are doing something new here with Red Steel. They are basically setting the foundations on which all other FPS’s will be created.
The next FPS’s that come out can all learn from the mistakes that problems suffered in Red Steel.
Red Steel might not be the greatest game, but I dont think many people were expecting this. I certianyl wasnt.
At the end of the day, I doubt Ill purchase Red Steel on release date, I will pick it up, as its something new.
But when games like Metroid Prime start to get released all faults will be ironed out.

Red Steel will be picked up, eventually.
Although Im limiting my preorder bundle, having to take in to acocunt the “Christmas Factor”
Sticking to Zelda (of course) and a second (expensive) Wiimote. The Wiimote is of course needed so I can show the missus why boys are better at girls when it comes to (wii)sports.
But, as I was saying, when MP3:C finally gets its arse out and on to our shelves that will show everyone exactly how FPS’s on the Wii should be done.
(Really looking forward to the whole using hook to grapple shields off bad alien scum, I wonder how many law suits will be passed on to Nintendo due to lots of whiplash during these games? haha)
