Wii online - Spring 07?

Nintendolife are reporting that wii will all be gaming online come 2nd quarter of 2007 (around Spring time).
“The multiplayer is coming. During the Japanese launch, there is Pokémon Battle Revolution, and that’s really the first one. There will be titles that we’ll be announcing in first quarter 2007, that’ll be multiplayer-enabled. So during second quarter 2007, people will be able to have a multiplayer experience on Wii.”
I really wish they could have had a few launch games here with online play, but i’ve read that Call of Duty 3 will be getting a patch so it can be played online as soon as Nintendo sends them the code. So perhaps that means online play is already ’sort-of’ in a launch title. Also can’t wait for that Pokemon game to hit over here, looks brilliant.

A little off topic.
As pointed out in my recent entry, the great folk at HMV have called me and told me Im guarnateed a Wii this weekend. Despite not being in the city to collect it, they will keep hold of it for me until Saturday 6pm. Im hoping to have it on Friday afternoon when I return from Edinburgh. Fingers crossed.
But when I do get I’ll make sure to send you an email with my FC.
