The Eurogamer TV Show
Posted by Kerri on December 18th, 2006
I must admit, TV has never really been a great medium for games news and discussion here in the UK. I know that in American it works (or did work in the case of G4) quite well. Whereas here the best thing we have to look for on the box is showings of low budget CGI filled late night spots on digital tv.
Its refreshing then to see that atleast Brighton based Eurogamer.net is making a show which is watchable via the intertubes. If you’ve not seen it before, Eurogamer TV is updated ‘every-so-often’ and encompasses the goings on of the team as well as press events and previews of upcoming games etc. Putting the pretentious CGI and sound effects aside, its a great watch and makes me wish I was running a games site or something.
The latest episode (Episode 5) includes video footage of the UK Wii launch in Oxford Street, London and they even got to interview the F-List celebs who were hired for the event. It also features a look in to the Sony house set up in London (seriously, Sony just LOVE copying Nintendo at the moment) and then a brief showcase of the Tomb Raider series as well as a glimpse of the future for the franchise.
I’m thinking 8bit Hero should jump on this whole video bandwagon sooner or later…
