Wii Channels for the Future?
Posted by Kerri on December 20th, 2006
Now that we are beginning to see the Wii Channels starting to open up a bit, we’ve got the Internet Channel almost ready to go and the forecast channel released yesterday. You kinda gotta ask, whats next?
Apart from Nintendo’s original lineup of these 2 channels along with the Mii, Shop and Photo editing channels. Its kinda crappy to not be seeing any new announcements for things to come yet. Maybe i’m just the pessimistic geek but it’d be nice to see Nintendo’s new found commitment to releasing things, much like their ‘varying launch window‘ for their first party releases this year.
I’m kinda brainstorming some new channels they could incorporate. Perhaps expanding on the video and music playback from the Photo channel I don’t see why they couldn’t include a Music and video player. It’d be nice as well if perhaps Opera worked on RSS readers so we could have separate channels for them as well (you’ll have an easier way to read out site everyday then :P) Perhaps a channel just for the big wigs at Nintendo that just prints money. Any other ideas?

I was thinking RSS feeds could be one of the best ways of using the channels. I mean on the Wii menu there is like 20 or so and only 5 are occupied. Havent a clue what other topics nintendo could think up, except that allowing users to have there own channels in the way of rss feeds.
