Panel De Pon DS Japanese Advert

Posted by Kerri on April 16th, 2007

Wow, I can’t wait to touch those blocks! Panel De Pon is one of my all time favorite puzzle games (in fact, I’d go so far as to say it is my favorite) due to its simple looking surface but complex system under the hood. The game works just like the advert shows, you have to match up three or more of the same squares to erase them from your screen. The trick to it is you can only swap blocks around and when you pair off blocks at the bottom, all the blocks lying on top of them come crashing down allowing you to set up massive combos.

I first played the game in Yoshi form with ‘Tetris Attack’ on the SNES but didn’t get to chance to play the Pokemon version. It seems that Nintendo will be following their western-name for the series like they did with the most recent version for GBA - ‘Dr. Mario & Puzzle League‘ by calling the DS version Planet Puzzle League here in the west. Although they kept the name from the Pokemon itteration, the game on GBA was pretty much stripped of any franchises or links to other games and just included the gameplay (I must admit, I kinda miss Yoshi and friends though).

Oh and also, did I forget to mention the games got WiFi online play? I’ll be keeping you posted with my friend code when this game arrives!
