Geeky Excitement - Pokemon Edition!
Posted by Kerri on April 25th, 2007
Okay so today Pokemon Pearl came in the post from America. I couldn’t see myself waiting god knows how long to play a game I’ve been anticipating since it was announced.
I just managed to defeat the first gym - anyone else got this game/looking forward to it? So far it’s pretty much exactly like the other games in story and setup. If something isn’t broken why improve it right? Apart from new pokeman’s and the touch screen stuff there isn’t really that much new to the game at the moment. However, I have read that a lot of new stuff like contests and championships as well as Wifi later on in the adventure is pretty sweet. Expect a review this time next week ![]()

I just bought Diamond yesterday, but have yet to touch the game (or even open it). I have Super Paper Mario to finish off first. Then it’s all about Pokemon. I’m amazed by the amount of people excited by this title! It seems like anyone who played the first pokemon when they were younger is coming back into the Pokemon fold for this one!

The missus is thinking about getting pokemon. She is still a bit unsure. £30 is a lot to spend on a game your not sure about. I think she would just get annoyed at having to level up before gyms.
are all the battles still random?
Good luck with your new job. Im sure youll be able to get your hands on some discounted games easy now.

Luckily you can get it from cd-wow for £20 with postage which is sweet. Its a great game and there is loads of stuff I haven’t unlocked yet - can’t wait!
If you like RPGs i’d recommend it. But as you say, random battles can get annoying. So far you can get by from just leveling up against other people though.
I’d recommend it however, it really is good fun. The online trade function is pretty funny too. I traded a pokemon with some guy from michigan who I’ve never met before. Its fun

I have diamond on the way. Got it from cdwow for only £20, I wouldn’t of spent more on it as I’m not THAT bothered, but Kerri let me borrow sapphire last year and I liked that a lot!
