Another way to play (or grind) through Resident Evil 4

I’ll admit it - Resident Evil 4 is one of my least favorite games ever. It’s one of those games that I really want to like but it’s just not happening much like; the Metroid series (I just don’t get the hype), the FIFA football games (Konami have always filled my footballing needs with Pro Evolution) and Katamari (pretentious new age puzzler). Don’t get me wrong - Resident Evil is one of my favorite game series ever but the fourth one is just so dull and predictable. Perhaps there is nothing to ‘get’ after all - I’ll save my opinions for another time however.
Either way, Capcom have seen fit to port the title to the Wii later this year (the 29th of June to be precise). The game will be priced at £34.99 (according to the games retailer I work for), which is odd seeing as you can get the title on PS2 for less than £20 (including all the extras that they are promoting for the Wii release). Perhaps Capcom believe that motion sensing controls will warrant the higher price as you can target enemies easier and slash brain-dead Europeans with your knife of death.
I may give this game another chance on the Wii. I loved every one of the other titles in the series but the story and game play system of 4 is just so uninteresting in comparison. I hope Capcom can fix things with Resident Evil 5 (it certainly doesn’t look good for Umbrella Chronicles either).

RE4 is the only RE game Ive liked. I really enoyed it. I lent the game to a friend and never got it back. So Ill definitely be picking up this.
And Im looking forward to RE:Umbrella Chronicles. Anything that is different is always good I feel. I reckon this on the rails shoot em up will be a heck of a lot of fun. Espeically if there is multiplayer. How can there not be?

I much preferred the feel of the older games. Although the camera was fixed it was a lot scarier turning round a corner to see a zombie grabbing you! The tank like movement of the characters was also thoroughly missed in the forth game. I thought the story was pretty weak too - I just didn’t care about that girl, or Leon or any of them.
Like I say, I really wish I could like it but I just can’t. Your right, Umbrella Chronicles is another risk to the formula just like 4 was. That’s what puts me off it I think. I’ve no idea how it feels and can only rely on what people have said so far. I’m looking forward to playing it though.

I like RE4 for what it is, a good game. but it is just a side story to the main games.
i also like he orignal style of the games (even if i couldn’t get through a wooden door while carrying god knows how much weaponry).
i am looking for to 5 and the umbrella chronicles though. as much as gun survivor sucked, it was blasting zombies with my G-con. and i think the (last time i checked, rumoured) tempreture gauge in RE5 will make it much more survival horror and less shoot-things-and-find-keys-horror.
