Anamanaguchi are a chiptune-infused powerpop band, hailing from New York, USA. The 4-piece feature guitars, bass and drums as well as cute, colourful sounds eminating from an on-stage NES. If you notice similarities between Anamanaguchi and The Depreciation Guild (as mentioned in 8bit music #1) there’s no need to be surprised, as the two bands grew up together over at the 8-bit scene in New York. Also having released their full debut Power Supply through 8bitpeoples, the band are quickly gathering recognition for their successful blend of high energy guitar music with the sound of old-school video games. Anamanaguchi are active in and around New York, as well as having ventured across the Atlantic to the UK before.
