Sweet mother of god, its Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360!

Okay so it’s only Guitar Hero II, that’s old news. With the added support of downloadable extras via Live and that funky white (and wired ) guitar, I can’t see a way that this game will be too different from the PS2 version. The extra songs that will be added to the set-list will probably make it into Guitar Hero III either way so see it as a little ‘something-in-the-middle’ for now. I’m only speculating here of course as no word on release date yet, only a vague ’2007′ timeframe has been set. According to Gamespot, we can expect to see Guitar Hero titles on every ‘significant’ console this year. Does this mean an entry in the series will be coming to Nintendo as well? My only hope is that it includes a non-tacky guitar extension for the wii remote and the downloadable extras also.

Will Guitar Hero III be on PS3 or PS2? I’m not sure if the shunning of the previous gen will be the same as it was when the 360 launched. The previous xbox machine was completely outdated and sold at much lower prices straight away. It won’t be so easy to tempt the 100 million people out there into upgrading to the new Sony £500 behemoth.
