Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s
Posted by Kerry on May 11th, 2007

Not only do I quite like Guitar Hero a lot but I also like the eighties (a bit like Calvin Harris actually).
Guitar Hero expansion pack ‘Rock the 80s’ will supposedly be hitting shop floors around June later on this year. Not much is known about the game at the moment apart from the fact it will probably kick a lot of ass and contains these songs
- “I Wanna Rock” – Twisted Sister
- “I Ran (So Far Away)” – A Flock of Seagulls
- “Round and Round” – Ratt
- “I Want Candy” – Bow Wow Wow
- “Metal Health” – Quiet Riot
- “Holy Diver” – Dio
- “Heat of the Moment” – Asia
Word around the street is that they are using a few more of the original songs this time around rather than recording all of them in house. Both Twisted Sister’s ‘I Wanna Rock’ and ‘I Ran’ by A Flock of Seagulls are apparently the original versions of the song which is good because they are clearly the best songs on that list.
Watch out for more information as we get closer to release.

Really looking forward to this. I’ve always had a negative opinion of games that have countless sequels but Guitar Hero is one game I’d buy every year as long as it had good tunes.
I also agree that the first two songs are the best. Seeing those there makes me think it might be more than the White Snake/Poison/Bon Jovi glam rock POS I was afraid it would turn out to be.

Roll on more and more Guitar Hero!
Over some time I’d like to see a system like Sony is developing for their new Singstar title for PS3. You can get all the songs from the original ps2 titles for download over the internet. Imagine all the Guitar Hero songs in one game!
