Well the first thing about the PS3 that I noticed was its huge size. Seriously, this thing is massive. I wouldn’t be surprised if SONY glued their two previous consoles together to make this.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get a look in at the UI of the system, and I couldn’t tell how noisy the console was either, due to in-store music.

As Kerri mentioned the Ridge racer 7 menu is sleek and clean, it’s really easy to navigate as well.

As for Ridge Racer 7 itself, the game physics and collision detection weren’t even present, but I suppose Ridge Racer is that way, especially considering the cornering physics.
The Graphics were not up to much either, parts of the car were visible not anti-aliased, although I couldn’t see any visible draw distance. They had a Resistance: Fall of man case in the display cabinet to, but we didn’t get a chance to play it, although i’ve heard that it has nothing on Gears of War (which came through the post today, its awesome :p)
SIXAXIS control was unavailable, but there was one there, behind the glass cabinet. I assume that they didn’t want people stealing it. SONY have gone for LED’s telling you which player you are, which is cool, especially seen as they aren’t to obtrusive just along the top of the controller next to the USBmini port. The shoulder 2nd shoulder buttons are a lot more trigger like from what I could tell to.

Anyway, from what I’ve seen, I’m really not bothered about securing one of these on launch, id rather take a wait-and-see approach, considering the state of the PLAYSTATION3 online services. (Seriously Caps???)
