Well i’ve just got back from the Brighton Churchill square Wii Tour, and i must say, it was bloody amazing.

Considering it was just four Wii units in the center of the shopping mall, it was a surprisingly short wait to get to play the console.

On show was Wii sports, Wii Play, Warioware and Zelda. I got a play of all the titles except Zelda, but i did get a good look at it.
We also got some footage before one of the Wii guys stopped us, which Kerri should post up some time later on.

Warioware

My first Wii experience, and it was just like the DS version. Short, Sweet and addictive. But with added Wii. The Controls were really intuitive, including squatting, hula-hooping and placing an OAP’s dentures in her mouth…
Didn’t get any multiplayer action, but the single player mode was still fun.

Wii Sports

The next title i played, and the one i played for the longest. This was by far the best title there, and i got at least 20 minutes on this!
I played some 4 player Tennis, of which was really easy to pick up, and a great game to. The only problem i can see is having too little space to really get into it, as i did find myself almost hitting other people.
Next up i got some action in the Golf department.
Again, 4 player heaven.

By far the hardest game on sports (although i didn’t play baseball or boxing), it does seem to require a bit of skill. Less “pick up and play” and more “pick up and fail”, it was really hard to get the game going.
Next up, it was some bowling. Simple and fun (again). its just like the real thing, but without the smelly shoes and parts of limbs that the Mii’s miss.

Wii Play

Just before i left, i got a quick look in at Wii play. Kerri played Pool, so he’ll check you up on that im sure. i however played the duck-hunt esque shooting game, fun, but not anything special. i could see 4 player of this getting hectic and alot more entertaining though, but the 2 player i participated in wasn’t anything special.

Overall

The system has exceeded all expectations, and it looks to be what the gamecube wanted to be, a multiplayer party machine.

Still a bit annoyed that i didn’t get any Zelda action, but its there until Saturday, so you never know…
